Where? Meet in the JMS Library. Some meetings may be held at the new Jefferson City Schools STEAM Center – a technology and Makerspace facility (old public library newly renovated).
What is a Makerspace?
Makerspaces are creative, do-it-yourself spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn (who is a Maker? everyone!). Makers are interested in almost any kind of creative subject – art, technology, coding, crafting, fashion, hands-on-skills, etc.
What will I learn/do?
Maker meetings are time to share ideas and learn new skills. We will have different centers where students can try crafting, coding, and making things. We may have special guests who can share their expertise in something they make. Students may choose to work on individual ideas/projects or join different groups to learn and share skills.
There is no cost to join the Maker Club, but we may have future project opportunities that will need special permissions or material costs (this will be optional). Otherwise, participation is free!
